Valentine's Day is almost upon us, but not everyone is feeling the love in 2025.

In fact, of anytime in the year to break-up with a partner, research shows February 13 is a popular day to do it.

Whether it's not wanting to indulge in the cheesy romantic holiday, or you figured you were going to do it eventually, there will inevitably be more than a few couples headed for splitsville on what's been harshly labelled World Dump Day.

But if you are one of those who want out and are ready to hit the singles market again, there are some key things to consider before you have that difficult conversation with your soon-to-be ex.

"It depends on the seriousness of the relationship, if you're in a long marriage or a long relationship, you don't want to dump them over text," intimacy and relationship expert Susie Kim told Today.
